Money Glossary


1. All seeing eye- The Eye of Providence or All seeing eye is a symbol showing an eye surrounded by rays of light or a glory, and usually enclosed by a triangle. It is commonly interpreted as representing the all-seeing eye of God keeping watch on mankind.

2. Conspiracy- a secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful act.

3. Denomination- unit of value or measure.

4. Government- the organization that is the governing authority of a political unit.

5. Legal Tender- coins, paper money, or other currency issued by a government and used as money. The legal tender value of a coin is the value placed on it by the government. It may be different than the intrinsic value (bullion value) or collector value.

6. Masonic Order- The Masonic Order of Liberia is a fraternal organization in that West African country. It was based on principles of Freemasonry which had been gleaned by former slaves from their masters in the United States prior to their being "returned" to Africa under the auspices of the American Colonization Society, a 19th century U.S. group advocating the freeing of African American slaves and their removal.

7. Money- a form of currency used to purchase products or goods.

8. Symbols- physical objects, colors, sounds, movements, scents which convey information through an arbitrary or culturally assigned meaning.

9. Theory- a general principle that explains or predicts facts or events.

10. U.S Treasury- The United States Department of the Treasury is a Cabinet department, a treasury, of the United States government established by an Act of U.S. Congress in 1789 to manage the revenue of the United States government.
